At the Appointment
Arrival: You can find us in Suite 102. We have a direct entrance below and to the left of the main entrance. Take off your coat and have a seat in our relaxed waiting room. Help yourself to complementary tea or coffee.
Verification: We’ll review your identification and log into your application using your MedXpress number.
Urine testing: We’ll direct you to our ADA compatible restroom to collect a specimen. We’ll use this to check for sugar and protein. The specimen will be discarded immediately afterwards. We don’t have the capability to test for anything else.
Vitals: Remove your shoes so that we can check your height and weight. We will also check your blood pressure and heart rate.
Vision testing: This includes visual acuity and visual field. We check color vision and perform other testing as needed.
Audiometric testing: If necessary, we will perform appropriate audiometric testing to evaluate your hearing.
Medical history review: This will be a simple conversation in the comfortable atmosphere of our exam room. Be prepared to answer questions!
Document review: We’ll look through any material you bring with you. This may include your medical records and any previous CACI, SI, AASI, or SODA material. You may bring paper copies with you or you can scan them and email them to us beforehand.
ECG (EKG): If necessary, we will obtain a 12-lead ECG and interpret it in the exam room.
Certification: If standards are met, we will issue your medical certificate during the appointment. If something is incomplete, we’ll make a plan for how to get what is needed. If your application requires review by the FAA, we’ll discuss what will happen and the expected time course.
